Resurrection of Jesus
The resurrection of Jesus is a unique story. No other religion or philisophy has anything like it. Other religions have similar stories but in those cases the person or god is usually reanimated (the dead body made to move and talk) or reincarnated not resurrected (the body renewed and the life returned).
The story of Easter is at the heart of the Christian faith. At the heart of the Easter story is an empty tomb.
“Two thousand years ago Jesus is crucified, three days later he walks out of a cave and they celebrate with chocolate bunnies and marshmallow Peeps and beautifully decorated eggs. I guess these were things Jesus loved as a child.” ― Billy Crystal, Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys
If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said; if he didn’t rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said? The issue on which everything hangs is not whether or not you like his teaching but whether or not he rose from the dead. Timothy Keller
